Show Review – Halfway to Hollywood

By: Lizzie Sharpe

Halfway To Hollywood is currently on a eastern Canadian tour with Amasic, and i have had the pleasure of catching a show on Sunday when they stopped in Kingston, Ontario. As you may know Halfway To Hollywood has released an new EP called ‘Rain’ that the tour is promoting. I have seen Halfway To Hollywood put on a show back in March and knew that this show would be just as good. We got to the venue super early by mistake, even before the band got there themselves. We waited until the first artist played, while talking to the boys when they weren’t busy doing band stuff. The first artist was Captains Of The Sky, he was really good, to the point I have plans to see him in December. We had to sit on the venue floor to watch him play, it was an experience that i never had before and loved it.

After the first there was another band but I disappeared and missed their whole set, but i heard they were good too. After they played Amasic hit the stage and rocked it! I have only been a fan of Amasic for a month now and didn’t know what their shows were like. I was not disappointed at all and enjoyed singing along with the band. They have amazing stage performance. I am looking forward to seeing them in the future.

Finally after watching all the talented artists Halfway To Hollywood hit the stage! They started off with the song ‘Breakdown’ I honestly love that song and was very happy to hear it again live. They played a lot of their old songs like speechless and Green Lights and some of the songs off of their new EP, such as This is not a love song and Moments. It was amazing to finally hear the new songs live watching how strong the energy is from Halfway To Hollywood.

The band had everyone having a great time and the crowd was just has amazing as the band. Halfway To Hollywood surprised the audience with a cover of Stacey’s Mom and everyone reacted great to it! My sister, who came with us, says it was her favorite part. After the show I got to talk to the guys and take pictures with them. I cannot wait to see them again when they come back to Ontario.

Halfway To Hollywood are still on tour, if there is a show close to you, you should check it out! You won’t be disappointed!
