The nominees for the 2014 East Coast Music Awards were announced yesterday. PEI’s Paper Lions, Nova Scotia’s Classified and New Brunswick’s David Myles lead the nominees with six nominations each. Amelia Curran had 5 nominations and Dave Gunning and Mo Kenney had four each.
There are 30 categories including ranging from Classical Recording of the Year to Rock Recording of the Year to Electronic Recording of the Year and more. There are two fan choice awards, Entertainer of the Year and Video of The Year with nominees including Charlie A’Court, Jimmy Rankin, The Trews, Tim Chaisson, Jenn Grant, The Motorleague, and more.
The ECMA’s also recognize the music industry with awards for events, media outlets, graphic/media artists, sound engineers, management, studios and venues.

The awards will be presented April 6 in Charlottetown.
I’m Tara and I’m a graphic designer from Newfoundland. I am very fortunate to live in a city where there is a ton of amazing musicians. I’ve grown very fond of the local music scene in St. John’s and some of my favorite bands are ones I’ve met through going to local shows.
