LOAD is a Ambient Pop band from Winnipeg. The band is made up of Luce (Vocals), Avi-G (Bass) and Johnny Stewart (Guitar, Programming). Their latest album, “It’s True” is set to release on February 11th, and we were asked to do a review of the album.
The album features 12 songs, each of which is full of emotion and radiates a very unique vibe. From the very first song, until the very last song, the band pulls you in with their distinct sound. The 4th songs, “2 Hearts”is one of my favourites from the album. Luce has a very inviting voice that exudes emotion in every line she sings.
The next song that I feel I have to give a shout out to is the eighth song, “Morning Dew”. Luce continues to pull you in with each song, and this is no different. This song gives off more of a pop feel than the rest, in my opinion. That being said, it is hard to shove this band into any one specific genre, so why even try? You can hear in their music that they are doing what they want to do, and not trying to make a specific type of music. If you are the type of person that likes to hear new and unique bands, I would highly recommend LOAD. Each song continues on with an almost theatrical sound .
The last song that I want to touch on is the eleventh song, “Good To Be Strong(er)”, which they have said is their human rights song, about taking control in your life. The lyrics are very deep and I recommend you listen closely to this song. With lyrics such as, “It’s good to be strong, stronger” and “This is the moment I’m gonna try, I bet you know!” It’s an uplifting song that almost gives you strength.
All in all, the album is a completely unique masterpiece. Give a listen for yourself and make your own opinions.
