You may remember reading about this upcoming pop-meets-country artist releasing a new song a while ago, well now it’s time to learn much more about this award winning powerhouse.
What is the first music related memory you have?
ST: When I was younger I remember sneaking my dads guitar to the basement and attempting to write music while recording it with a tape recorder. And even younger then that age I would stand up on table tops performing for my family.
When did you decide you wanted to pursue music as a career?
ST: I guess you can say music kind of decided for me. I was discovered singing a Shania song and began working as a Shania Twain impersonator by the age of 12.
Who have been your biggest musical influences?
ST: My biggest music influence has been Melissa Etheridge but I also enjoy different artists at different times. Serena Ryder, ZZ Ward, Brandi Carlile and old school rock music.
You just released your new single, What The Hell on November 22, how has the response been so far?
ST: I have released a few new singles “What the Hell” “I Hate You” and “Burn Baby”. It feels really refreshing to be writing the music I love and being able to share it.
When writing songs, where do you pull inspiration from?
ST: My inspiration comes from life, mostly my own experience but life can be powerful and that inspires and reflects my music.
What’s it like to hear your song on the radio?
ST: I am really grateful for these opportunities. I work really hard and my heart goes into my music so when I see its success im all smiles.
When can your fans expect more from you?
ST: Almost every day something is going on. I am releasing new music to give my fans and listeners a really good idea of what to expect when I release my album in 2014. I will be touring in 2014 and I have many other exiting news I am looking forward to sharing.
You have shared the stage with many artists, such as April Wine, Glass Tiger, Lady Gaga and more, who would you love to be given the opportunity to tour with?
ST: Melissa Etheridge. I have listened to her music from a little kid and remember thinking I hope to be a influential power female inspiring others as she does.
If you were asked to describe your sound in one word, what word would you choose?
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian artists, who would you say is your favourite Canadian band/ artist right now?
ST: I really love Serena Ryder her music has a great vibe and I like when you feel like you can really get to know an artist through their music I also really love Blue Rodeo.

What was the first concert you ever attended?
ST: I am afraid to admit … Backstreet Boys
What was the first cover song you ever performed?
ST: Man I feel like a Women (Shania Twain)
If you could only watch one show for the rest of your life, which show would you choose?
ST: Keeping Up with the Kardashians .. I know, but I am obsessed
Do you prefer Facebook or Twitter?
When it comes to social networking, how important do you think it is in the music industry these days?
ST: I think its important. It’s a perfect tool to get your self across to a broad range of people.
How would you explain your perfect day of relaxation?
ST: To be honest I suck at relaxing but the beach a ceaser and a talented message therapist sounds good right about now.
