This week’s Tuned In Tuesday is going back to an album released a little over a year ago from Vancouver band, Fighting For Ithaca. Their EP, ‘To The Rescue’, released on October 22nd, 2012, was their debut album under 604 Records. Shortly after releasing the album they headed off on a cross Canada tour with label mates Faber Drive. “Wasted Nights” was one of the songs that got me hooked on this album and band. It’s definitely a song that needs to be on your party playlist if it isn’t already.
The band is also working on new music that is in a different direction than ‘To The Rescue’, but based on songs that were uploaded to YouTube, it will still be an amazing album. Unfortunately, Adamm Strange has decided to part ways with the band to pursue other things and had his last show with them was on December 13th, where the new songs were played. We at Canadian Beats wish Adamm all the best on whatever he decides to do in the future, and we thank you for being part of such an amazing band.
On a happier note, Fighting For Ithaca, along with many other favourites from the blog, are nominated for the first annual Canadian Beats awards! Voting goes on until 11:59 PM on December 29th, 2013. Voting is unlimited. To vote for your favourites, simply head to http://canadianbeats.wordpress.com/2013/12/02/first-annual-canadian-beats-awards/ and pick your favourites.

I’m a Toronto girl born and raised but have been living in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick since 2010. Music and writing are my two passions, so what better place for me to be than a writer with Canadian Beats? I have been writing for the blog since May of 2013 and have had so many great experiences because of it. I listen to almost every kind of music but my favourites are pop rock, rock, indie, folk, and any other combinations of them. Concerts are definitely my favourite place to be, especially when you’re right against the barricade and can feel the energy from the band and the crowd, everyone singing the same lyrics and moving to the music. I also have a college degree in Business Administration and hope to one day be able to publish a novel.
