Alexa Ferr is an “up and coming” Toronto artist who recently recorded her first EP with songwriting and production duo, The Invaders. Alexa has also released a music video for “Lipstick on the Glass/ Rum Cake”, which you can watch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjhTE522e9U

I have recently gave her EP a listen, and wanted to tell you all about it. The EP features six tracks, and they are far from the ordinary, but also in the comfort zone of pop fans and R&B fans. The first track which is “Lipstick on the Glass” is full of energy and I can picture it being played at a club. The song starts the EP off strong and keeps the listener intrigued.

The second song I have to make a point to tell you about is the slower song on the EP, “Quiet Storm”, which gives Alexa the chance to really feature her amazing vocals. I would say this has to be my favourite from the selection of songs. The song just gives you a fully relaxed vibe and I can picture listening to it with the rain pouring outside.

The last three songs on the EP continue on the upbeat, dance tracks which Alexa does perfectly. “Tug of War” and “Stripped” give you a bit more of a R&B feel than the first three songs, and shows how truly versatile she can be.

All in all, the EP is worth a listen, if you like what you hear, be sure to purchase it on iTunes. I highly recommend it to any pop or R&B fan, and especially anyone who likes dance music. And be sure to keep an eye out for more from Alexa Ferr on Canadian Beats, we will be doing an e-interview with her in the near future.
