We Day Atlantic Review

By: Emily Thomson

For the first time EVER We Day came to Atlantic Canada. People from all over the Maritimes traveled up to take part in this event. The thing is you couldn’t buy a ticket for this event, you had to earn it!

There were tons of great inspirational speakers like Spencer West and Martin Luther King Jr the 3rd. Along with the speaker there were lots of great musical performances. Shawn Desman hosted the day long event.

The first performance of the day was by Kardinal Offishall. He performed a song and went on to talk about the cause.

Hedley teamed up with the Ghanian Boys choir to perform ‘Anything’. Hedley never fails to  impress!

About halfway thru the event Shawn Desman too it he stage to perform. He performed ‘Nobody Does it Like You’. The whole crowd was singing along.

Much Music Coca Cola Covers winner the Oducado twins performed an awesome cover of Phillip Phillips’ ‘Home’.

Neverest took the stage to do an acoustic performance of ‘Rewind’. Their performance one was one of the ones I was most excited to see as well as Hedley of course!

Classified took the stage to close the show. He performed a medley of ‘3 Foot Tall’ and ‘Inner Ninja’. He even brought David Miles out for ‘Inner Ninja’.

I highly recommend that if We Day comes near you to earn your way there. It’s definitely an event that will change your view on the topics that were covered.
