This week for Tuned In Tuesday is a slightly odd pick coming from me. If you know me, you know that I’m not the biggest fan of country music, but lately it seems to be growing on me, which is why I bought ‘Jumped Right In’ by Vancouver country artist, Dallas Smith. I heard his single “Nothing But Summer” a while ago and absolutely loved it, so when I saw his CD at a store I was at, I happily bought it.
My favourite song off of the album, hands down, has to be “Somebody Somewhere”. I suppose if you look at the lyrics, it’s just like many country songs. The singer lost his girlfriend, he regrets it, blah, blah, blah, you’ve heard it all before. However, Smith’s song seems different to me. I’m not sure why. Either way, it’s an amazing song.
You can purchase ‘Jumped Right In’ off of iTunes here https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/jumped-right-in/id525144673 which comes with an acoustic version of the song as well. Also, to be sure that you don’t miss anything that Dallas releases, be sure to check out his websites:
I’m a Toronto girl born and raised but have been living in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick since 2010. Music and writing are my two passions, so what better place for me to be than a writer with Canadian Beats? I have been writing for the blog since May of 2013 and have had so many great experiences because of it. I listen to almost every kind of music but my favourites are pop rock, rock, indie, folk, and any other combinations of them. Concerts are definitely my favourite place to be, especially when you’re right against the barricade and can feel the energy from the band and the crowd, everyone singing the same lyrics and moving to the music. I also have a college degree in Business Administration and hope to one day be able to publish a novel.
