The Smirnoff Red Door Island Party takes place on Georges Island, an island right in the middle of Halifax Harbour this weekend. Today and tomorrow, you can catch some of the hottest performers.
Saturday’s Performers are Classified & Rich Aucoin. Classified is a Canadian rapper, with hits such as “That Ain’t Classy” and “Inner Ninja”. Rich Aucoin is a Canadian Indie Rocker, based in Halifax. Also playing Saturday are Sticks & Dezza.
Now Sunday features The Trews, The Stanfields, Gloryhound and The Town Heroes. All Canadian bands, and all great!
I’m sure you’ve heard of at least one of those bands. The Trews! They are a Canadian hard rock band from Nova Scotia, although currently based in Toronto. With hits such as “So She’s Leaving” and “Highway of Heroes”, you are not going to want to miss this show if you are anyway in the area.
The Stanfields are also a rock band based in Halifax. The band blends hard rock with traditional Atlantic Canada folk music. A unique blend of music, for sure.
Gloryhound is based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia as well, and have been signed to Entertainment One. Their newest single, “Let Me Down Again” was released this year and is a great, stand alone single.
Last but not least, The Town Heroes are a rock duo from Halifax. Although the band is minimalist in numbers, their sound is anything but that.
So that being said, be sure to check out this set of shows, if it is at all possible. And stay tuned to Canadian Beats for a guest review of the Trews show!
