In 2002, Simple Plan, the pop/rock band from Montreal, Quebec, released their first full length album No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls. I think the album title really sums up what they were feeling when they were creating this album. I think they felt like they had no security, no “fail-safe plan” and just gave it all they had to see what would happen.
With twelve tracks listed, the album peaked at number 8 on the Canadian Album Charts in 2002 and was certified as Double Platinum. Simple Plan released four singles from the album titled, I’m Just A Kid, I’d Do Anything, Addicted, and Perfect.
I remember hearing the songs I’m Just A Kid and Perfect on the radio as a small child and although I wasn’t old enough to truly understand them, I liked them. Hearing their singles on the radio growing up is what started my love for the band. Simple Plan was one of my favourite bands as a child and still is to this day.
Although their old music is different to what they have out now, it is still very relatable and very difficult to get tired of.
