Well we all know that Ithacans are a very dedicated fan base when it comes to trending the odd things that drummer Phil Maloney wants us to trend, or getting their new single, “Do What You Wanna” to the number one trend in Canada within an hour. And it is this dedication that got their last single, “Last Chance” to the Sonic hall of fame last year. And they would highly appreciate it if you would help them again!
Today is the second day that they are in the Sonic Spin Off on Sonic Nation, a radio station in Vancouver. They won on Friday night, putting them through to tonight. If they win five nights in a row, they will be in the hall of fame again and “Do What You Wanna” will be added to the station on heavy rotation.
So how can you help the guys win again? It’s simple! All you have to do is vote!
Voting opens at 9 pm in Vancouver (12 am in Ontario and Quebec, 1 am in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, 1:30 am in Newfoundland & Labrador) and you can vote in three simple ways:
1: On the Sonic Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/sonicnation?fref=ts (the songs will be posted at 9 pm Vancouver time)
2: Tweet @thesonicnation when voting opens
3: Or call (toll free, no long distance charges!) 1-877-936-HITS (4487)
You can do all three! Every vote counts. If they continue to win, they will be on the Sonic Spin Off tonight (Monday, June 17th) through Thursday, (June 20th).
Be sure to tell everyone you know to help the guys win this! If you still haven’t purchased the song off of iTunes, you can do so here https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/do-what-you-wanna-single/id660386756 and watch the lyric video.
And if you aren’t already, be sure to follow them on Twitter @FightingForIth and like their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/FightingForIthaca
Ithacans have already proved that we can put the boys through to the hall of fame once before, so put those voting skills to the test and do it again!
-Amanda Hather- Canadian Beats
I’m a Toronto girl born and raised but have been living in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick since 2010. Music and writing are my two passions, so what better place for me to be than a writer with Canadian Beats? I have been writing for the blog since May of 2013 and have had so many great experiences because of it. I listen to almost every kind of music but my favourites are pop rock, rock, indie, folk, and any other combinations of them. Concerts are definitely my favourite place to be, especially when you’re right against the barricade and can feel the energy from the band and the crowd, everyone singing the same lyrics and moving to the music. I also have a college degree in Business Administration and hope to one day be able to publish a novel.
