Chase Your Words is a pop punk band from Vancouver and they are releasing their debut single, Under Attack. It will be released to iTunes tomorrow, June 15, 2013. So be sure to look for it there.
The song was written by vocalist/ guitarist, Chris Siglos. I asked Chris what the background of the song was, this was his answer:
“The lyrics in the song are pretty self explanatory. It’s basically the story of a guy who is fed up with a lot of the unnecessary bullshit that he has to deal with on a daily basis from his girlfriend/partner. The song was in no way written to be misogynistic, nor is it meant to come off as misogynistic. If you really think about it, how many girls get away with writing songs talking shit about their ex boyfriends? We wanted to make a version that is a bit comedic, but at the same time relatable to a certain degree (mainly if you’re a guy dealing with a psycho girlfriend). I wrote it after my ex broke up with me on Christmas Eve. It was acoustic at first, then eventually it became a full band song”
If you ask me they did a great job on this song and I can’t wait to hear more. The single is a song about relationship troubles, but they put a comedic twist on it.
