Have you heard of a band called Aviator Shades from Vancouver? No? Well then you’re in the right place. The rock band consisting of Dave Gorman on lead vocals and bass, George Baker on lead guitar and vocals, Jesse Waldron on drums and percussion, and Shaun Michael Thackeray on lead guitar on vocals, delivers the sound that many of us were raised with.
I cannot honestly pick a favourite out of four of their songs, “Doin Alright”, “Chasing Sunsets”, “The Blues” and “Other Side of Heaven”. All of them have bits and pieces that remind me of the music that I was practically raised on when I was a kid.
If you like music like Guns N’ Roses, Queen, Rush, AC/DC, and other classic rock bands, you will love Aviator Shades! All four of the songs I mentioned are available to listen to here http://www.reverbnation.com/aviatorshades, and I definitely suggest that you do.
Also remember to like the band’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/AviatorShadesBand as well as follow them on Twitter @AviatorShades1 because they are releasing a new album soon!
-Amanda Hather- Canadian Beats
I’m a Toronto girl born and raised but have been living in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick since 2010. Music and writing are my two passions, so what better place for me to be than a writer with Canadian Beats? I have been writing for the blog since May of 2013 and have had so many great experiences because of it. I listen to almost every kind of music but my favourites are pop rock, rock, indie, folk, and any other combinations of them. Concerts are definitely my favourite place to be, especially when you’re right against the barricade and can feel the energy from the band and the crowd, everyone singing the same lyrics and moving to the music. I also have a college degree in Business Administration and hope to one day be able to publish a novel.
