I have an always growing passion for music of all genres which drives my motivation in the world of journalism.
I am also very interested in psychology and that influences my curiosity of others. I love talking and engaging with people. Everyone has a different story, and I cannot wait to hear them. Journalism is to me, the best of both worlds.
I tend to lean towards rock, alternative, indie, folk and acoustic music- but I am also open to listening to something new too! Maybe I’ll see you around at a concert!
Inspirational Interviewer and Promotional music lover for artists.
Born in Kingston, I grew up with the likes of Dan Akroyd and his blues influence and also The Tragically Hip, plus live shows downtown in the streets and country bands in the pubs.
I love music in all forms and genres. I can adapt my ear to enjoy and appreciate all instrumentals and vocals. I started writing about certain artists that I grew up listening to and then I reached out to artists for interviews. I have done over 20 interviews with artists and CEOs of industry companies from all over the world.
Now, with Canadian Beats I have an opportunity to improve my journalistic abilities and to get the word out there for artists, and best of all to go to shows and get that personal feeling. I get to represent Canadian music on a higher level. We need to open more doors and have more shows and venues, as well as get the world to come to us. That is my goal.
Born and raised in MTL, I spent most of my teens and early 20’s working in the music industry. I made the permanent move to Toronto in 2013 where I joined the team at the Canadian Independent Music Association as the Music Export Assistant. I spend my days working with and promoting incredible indie Canadian artists and companies across the world.
Music journalism and photography have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, as I jumped on board Confront Magazine a few years after it formed and ran it as the Editor-in-Chief for 7 years, right up until its recent closure.
I love to spend my spare time running to and from concerts, cheering on my hockey team (Go Habs!) and getting lost in nature whenever I can.
Hi, I’m originally from the UK; born between the music cities of Liverpool & Manchester, and have been playing guitar and going to see live music ever since High School. Arena gigs are good, but nothing beats the small intimate venues that showcase the talent and energy when a band is just starting out. I love all kinds of music, particularly guitar bands like the Smiths, the Cure, Lemonheads through to the likes of Modest Mouse, July Talk and Catfish & the Bottlemen….oh and coming from Liverpool, I have to say the Beatles!
I have been a Graphic Designer for over 20 years, I love music and I love a good album cover (check out Peter Saville’s creations). Since moving to Halifax, NS in 2009, I have started to write my first music book, and it’s a pleasure to join the talented team at Canadian Beats!
When I am not working, writing and hanging out with my husband and girls, I am running, reading or riding my horse.
