Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi, I’m Raphaël Roberge, a singer, and actor from Montreal. I was a contestant on the TV show “Mix 4” in 2014. We went on tour across the Quebec and released an album. I then released my first EP in 2015 and played festivals. Currently, I’m finishing my new EP, which includes my latest single “Crawling”.

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

I mostly write about things that are happening to me or try to put myself in situations that are fictive and imagine how I would react to them. Currently, I’m working with Maxime Fortin, he comes up with the music and we write the lyrics.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

Once my EP is released I’ll do a show to launch it and I have a couple of things planned for the summer. My live performances are a mix of popular songs (top 40, classics), Ballads and my original music. I think there’s something for everyone and I like to switch things up each show.

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

Right now I would suggest “Crawling” because it’s my most recent release but after the EP drops things might change!

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?

There’s so much talent in Canada! I like Alessia Cara and Lights, I think they’re amazing pop songwriters! I also love The Weeknd’s vibe, I actually saw him at the Bell Centre!
