CanadaSound celebrates inspiring sounds of Canada

Beginning last year, CanadaSound inspired Canadians across the country to celebrate the little sounds that bind our country together.  From bacon on the grill to the call of the loon to a hockey call in Punjab, the project tracks the Canadian spirit through sound.

Inspired by the diversity of the response, CanadaSound is announcing a digital compilation.  From 82 submissions from artists representing genres such as jazz, children’s music and electroacoustic, the compilation features 10 songs by artists such as hip-hop artist Karl Wolf,  Ammoye, Florence K and Melle Rose based on the submissions of Canadians.

From an electronic reimagination of a century’s old Maritime folk song opening with the sound of waves upon the Nova Scotia shore, to a stormy summer lament to a long love, CanadaSound takes the mind back to our roots and to our deepest memories of growing up across the country.

The CanadaSound compilation album is available for purchase via digital retailers including iTunes and Google Play on February 14 in support of MusiCounts.
