Jen Lane has kicked off 2018 with a brand new single from her latest album, This Life of Mine. Out now, “Happy” is Lane’s latest single. Lane released This Life of Mine in February 2016 and the album has already produced five successful singles including; “Shoe,” “Movin’ On,” “My Man,” “Never Try To Love You,” and the album’s title track “This Life of Mine.” Each released single pieces together the album like a musical jigsaw puzzle and gives listeners a glimpse of just how passionate Lane is about her music. From the soft and sweet sounds of “Waitin’ For You” (which is a personal favourite and frequent playlist add of mine) to the fun lyrics of “1st Day of Spring in Saskatchewan,” you can tell why This Life of Mine is such a strong and well-loved release from Lane. After extensively touring Canada coast to coast to promote This Life of Mine, Lane continues to remain busy and create music.

“Happy” shows off Lane’s vocal talents and honest songwriting. “Happy” uses its lyrics to reassure “listeners there is trust here, there is a place for them here, and there is a spot at the table – come sit and listen.” Lane has the ability to strongly emote through her vocals and engage the listener in her music. With its calm tempo and blues-grassy influences, “Happy” is yet another great release from This Life of Mine and continues to express Lane’s true musical talents.

Music has touched my soul since day one. Whether it is performing or sitting down with some of the biggest names in music, I can always be found sharing my profoundly tender affection of music with anyone who will listen. Being a music journalist has allowed me to expand my knowledge of music and interact with some of my biggest childhood heroes. From days of radio broadcasting to sitting back, kicking off my cowboy boots and sharing my adventures with likeminded music fans online has been nothing short of amazing. Canada is full of true musical talent and I look forward to continuing to share my adventures in music with you.
