Transcona, Winnipeg natives Petric has been gaining momentum in the music industry with recent hits like “It Girl” and “All She Wrote”. And with their last release of It Girl all the way back in 2015, it’s been a couple of years since we’ve been able to hear new music. Until now, that is. On November 17, 2017, the duo released 18 Ends, a brand new six track album full of catch new songs just waiting to become hits. Spending the better part of a year in studio perfecting each song, they bring us an album full of nostalgic memories about the carefree nature of young love and memories past.

Each song is a different in their own way but is all cohesive in creating an album that sparks the wistful ideals of being young and in love. Each song has a unique aspect that allows anybody to relate to what they are listening to. Whether it be your first love, or the trouble you got into growing up and living your life, you can instantly think of a memory that pertains to your life while listening to these songs.

If I were to pick a favourite, it would have to be a tie between “Never Met You” and “Playing it Safe”. I am a sucker for happy endings and wishful thinking, which is probably why I was drawn to “Never Met You” in the first place. It plays with your dreams of meeting the love of your life and having the fates collide. The romantic in me loves the idea that fate plays a part in this great thing called life. “Playing it Safe” is a fun and upbeat and just triggers happiness every time you listen to it. And it’s also a great representation of how love can be – a little wild and crazy.

Overall this album is fun and light hearted. And with all the unfortunate things we’ve been seeing all over the news and radio lately, it’s something that everyone is willing to embrace. It’s like a warm hug that you want to play on repeat.
