Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

I’m Boogát, a Mexican-Canadian vocalist based out of Montreal who mixes Latin Hip-Hop with Traditional Latin music (like Cumbia and Salsa) and Electronica. Google me!

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

My music is about happiness, alegria (joy), bringing the people together, getting the people to dance and party. I’m really about bringing different cultures together and show that differences don’t matter in music.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

Lots of shows in Canada, Mexico and USA coming up soon. You can check out the dates here.

My live performance is essentially a communion with the crowd through music. High Energy, lots of crowd participation and sing along. Show wise I’m really inspired by the way old-school hip-hop artist move crowds, but with a Latin twist. I always play with a band: Guitarist, Trombone player, Percussionist and a drummer. It’s a mix of analogue and electronic, modernity and tradition.

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

Eres Hecha Para Mi
