Ten Minute Detour release video for “Betty”

Calgary based Ten Minute Detour have released a video for their new single, “Betty”. “Betty” is the opening track off of their upcoming sophomore album, Common Pleasure, and if it’s any indication of what to expect from the rest of the album, colour me intrigued.

Frontman, Andrew Shier shares the meaning of the tune,

“Inspired by my grandma Betty, the song was written about the last time I saw her before she passed. I had hooked up her 8-track player, and put on one of her dad’s cassettes from the 1940’s. Not having heard him in decades, she was moved to tears and couldn’t stop dancing around the kitchen – this was in her mid-90’s. It was a surreal experience seeing how music can ignite the soul, present us with pure emotion and joy.“
