Review – Megan Nash

Album: Seeker
Release Date: September 22, 2017
Genre: Indie Rock/ Alt-Country

Southern Saskatchewan native Megan Nash has released her anticipated album Seeker. The albums is lyrically drawing and captures Megan’s songwriting with a very personal, roots touch to every song.  Produced with engineer Orion Paradis at Soul Sound in Regina, Nash collaborates with alt-rock unit Bears In Hazenmore on the albums eleven bold tracks. Seeker gives her fans a view into her confident songwriting abilities and displays an undeniable chemistry with the group over the past year.

The album takes you on an adventure from start to finish, it is full of emotion and strength. I believe a lot of young women can and will relate to the songs on this album. They tell stories of love and loss, worry and hope which most can relate to and embrace. The music on this album has a feeling of freedom and although there are a lot of heavy emotions behind them, it is easy to get lost in the songs and imagine yourself within these stories.

I really enjoyed the video release and song for her first single “Bad Poetry”, a girl who is being played as an outcast within her own group. Until she overcomes the peer pressure and shows how strong she is, it is an empowering song and video. I think it is a great video for young women.

I really enjoyed this album and none of her fans will be disappointed. It is a strong album with a lot of powerful emotion and feeling behind every song.
