Photo Review: STACEY EP Release

Who: STACEY & Babygirl
When: September 20, 2017
Where: The Drake Underground, Toronto ON

Last week, Toronto’s STACEY released her dreamy EP First Move and celebrated with a moving performance at the Drake Underground. The singer-songwriter turned the evening into an unforgettable event with roses strung across the ceiling and old film clips playing in the background to set a romantic, melancholy mood. Dream pop group, Babygirl, opened the show with soft yet heart-wrenchingly beautiful tunes.

First Move is the follow-up to STACEY’s debut self-titled EP and takes the listener on a journey through longing ballads, sunny beats, and delicate vocals. If you haven’t listened to it yet, be sure to check it out!

I’ve been involved in music my whole life and have developed a passion for helping out or working in the industry any way I can. I’m interested in helping talented artists gain the recognition they deserve in this crazy business. I am currently studying Communication Studies at York University in Toronto, and working at a local theatre doing marketing and communications, as well as helping out a local festival called Rock the Coliseum. Indie, alt-rock/pop, and metal are my favourites but I’m open to all music genres! If I’m not at a show, I’m doing yoga, grabbing coffee, or looking for some craft beer.
