PotashCorp Country Music Week in Saskatoon: Saturday, September 9 – WAX Records CCMA Rooftop Bash

Saturday afternoon was sunny and hot making it the ideal day for an outdoor party. WAX Records could not have planned their rooftop bash at the Crazy Cactus any better. Unless, you happen to have Jason Blaine, Andrew Hyatt, Alee and Kansas Stone perform at the party. Then, throw into the mix a new voice that is Owen Barney and you now have the perfect place to be on a beautiful afternoon.

Everyone had a wonderful time, soaking up the sun, taking in the atmosphere, delighting in a few beers, catching up with friends and enjoying the music. The day was made even more special when it was announced that Andrew Hyatt’s single, “On Me” went number 1. Jason Blaine’s “Born to Love” cracked the Top 40, as well.

The acoustic performances by all the artists were phenomenal. This was my first time hearing Andrew Hyatt, Alee and Kansas Stone. I was super impressed with their amazing voices. It was everyone’s first time hearing, Owen Barney. How does that phenomenal voice come out of someone that young! And Jason Blaine, well he was the sweet icing on the cake.

Hi all. I’m Nanci Dagg. I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and have lived my entire life here. There is nothing I like better than supporting local artists followed by supporting Canadian artists. Although I was a classic rock gal, my go to genre is country. Something about this music that just makes me feel great. I can be found at most country music concerts and shows (from someone’s house to really large venues) taking lots of pictures. Music and photography are two of my passions. Add to this mix, writing about artists, well let’s say, life doesn’t get better than this.
