Photo Review – Shawn Hook & Virginia to Vegas at The CNE

Our coverage of The Canadian National Exhibition wrapped up with a night of the amazing Canadian talent of Shawn Hook and Virginia to Vegas taking to the stage at Bandshell Park on The Ex grounds.  Virginia to Vegas warmed up his hometown crowd – a sea of familiar faces –  with a set that seemed altogether too short!  He performed from his catalogue of hits, including his single, “Selfish”, which was instantly recognizable by the crowd.  The night finished with the delightful set from the multi-JUNO nominated Shawn Hook.  Hook drew the crowd in as he started off by sitting at a sleek grand piano but it didn’t take long for the energy level to rise!

The CNE marks the unofficial end of the summer and provides Toronto with a wonderful tradition of free, all-ages concerts year after year!  There is still time to take in the fleeting moments of the festival as it runs until September 4th.

I’m Nicole, a biology teacher by day, but my life revolves around music. I’m that girl that you will always find with the concert t-shirt on and ear buds in. It is rare that you find me without some type of music playing in the background. I connect all of my life experiences to music. It truly has its own language in my heart. There is nothing more exciting than taking in all that a concert has to offer. I love to support local Canadian acts and attend as many shows that I can.
