We had the chance to chat with pop/ R&B artist, Go1d for this segment of Five Questions With. He has recently released a video for his single, “True Colours” which you can check out below along with our mini interview with him.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Go1d with the number one – “the one with the golden heart.”

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

My goal is to reach, connect and to awaken the heart of anyone listening to my music. Everything that is created in my lab (studio) is brought to life with a feeling and then the track begins to unfold for itself. There is always a hint of magic that goes on behind the scenes and a piece of me goes into the pot as well when I’m in the moment of writing/creating a piece of music. At the end of the day, all I want to evoke is positive vibes through music.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

I’m very excited to say that I do have a tour coming up after dropping my next project “Loud Silence”. But when you do see me live it’s like you’re a passenger in my car and taking a journey with me into my world. I love to interact with my audience and the energy is always great. I make sure that I sing every time like it’s going be my last show and I give it a 110% on the stage.

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

I would have them listen to “True Colours” because it’s a song everyone can relegate to because there is always a moment where an individual shows their true selves.

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/artists?

I’m a big fan of Drake, Weeknd and PartyNextDoor.

Connect with Go1d:

I’m Jenna, and I am the founder and editor of Canadian Beats. I have had a strong love for Canadian music, which started with Hedley. I have a passion for promoting these talented Canadian bands and artists, and that’s how Canadian Beats came to be. I am so proud of what it has become over the last few years, with many talented music lovers and writers coming together to spread the word of Canada’s music.
