The 11th Annual Manitoulin Country Fest is now in the history books. Great Lakes Country 103 (Little Current, ON) does a fantastic job organizing and making this event run as smoothly as possible. This year, 15 acts graced the MCF stage over three days. There were also two cruises, hosted by North Channel Cruise Lines, to take part in – the Wednesday night Fundraiser Dinner Cruise, which this year supported Manitoulin Community Living & Special Olympics; and the Friday Songwriter Showcase.
Friday, after an amazing set on stage, while teaming with rain, thunder and lightning, The Western Swing Authority – or 4/7th’s of them to be exact – came to visit Linda Heldman for an interview filled with great stories and lots of laughs. This is a band that if you don’t know about, you NEED to check them out. Especially, if you are a fan of western swing music.
Hello everyone! My name is Linda and I have been a fan of Canadian Music for as long as I can remember. That counts for way too many decades than I want to admit to! I have three primary passions in my life, music, photography and writing. When I can combine them all, I feel I am right where I should be. Though I can appreciate all genres of music, my particular favourite is Country. Canadian Country is moving in leaps and bounds. I love how it is progressing and I’m thankful that I can be a small part of it.
