Fellow Nova Scotia native Guy Paul Thibault has released his country album “It’s About Time”. This is his first album in 17 years on June 1st and features ten of Guy’s original songs in which he recorded throughout 2017. The album is full of track about life, heartbreak, tales of long lonely nights and bootleggers.

Thibault has put some time into this album and it is evident. Every song has a  full body sense of purpose and strength, with a lot of heartfelt meaning.

“If I had” – This is a great on the road song, it is very catchy and will appeal to both country and folk listeners. This song is about if he has someone to enjoy road trips with, how he would take in every sight and sound and enjoy every special moment.

“We Just Don’t Care” – has a different sounds from the rest of the album, but is a very strong meaningful song. This song really spoke to me, it reflects on how our society just doesn’t seem to care like people in the past have. It puts you into deep reflections of how things used to be as compared to the present, that I think most of us can reflect on.

I hadn’t heard of Guy before now but I am glad I signed on to do this review as this album will now be one of my go to for listening.  This album is a great one for sitting by the fire with a bunch of friends or even great road trip music. I absolutely enjoyed this album, and am proud that I was given the opportunity to review it for a fellow Maritimer.
