Photo Rundown – Banff Performance in the Park

Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity celebration of the arrival of summer and Canada’s 150 brought some of Canada’s best musicians to one of the most amazing locations in Canada: the heart of Banff, AB. The uniquely picturesque location of Banff’s Cascade Gardens, backed by the historic Parks Canada Building, and surrounded by the natural bowl of the gardens and flanked by majestic Sulphur and Rundle Mountains, created a delightful location with fantastic acoustics.

Opening on Friday night, Ria Mae set the tone with her upbeat sounds pleasing the crowd and gaining herself new fans.  Her energy and newer sound set the stage for the crowd to truly enjoy the headliner, Hedley. The Abbotsford, BC, JUNO award winning and fist-pumping band, performed the best of their best, bringing the crowd to it’s feet.

Day 2 was started by Vancouver, BC band, CBC 2017 Searchlight Winners, The Long War; followed up by Amistad.  The Vernon, BC band’s performance kept the crowd warm despite the cold, rainy weather. Just in time for Walk Off the Earth, the skies cleared as the unconventional quintet came to the stage to delight the crowd with their truly unique sounds. The only group to follow their set with an encore, the headliners gave the crowd their most infamous performance of “Somebody That I Used To Know” to close the night.
