Although Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals were already announced earlier last month, more headlining acts have been announced to play the main stage July 12-16th in Halifax. The Jazz Fest proves again it will round up some pretty amazing and diverse acts.
Blue Rodeo, Jo Mersa Marley, Jesse Royal, The Mellotones and Gypsophilia will also be performing on the main stage during the 4 Day Festival.
1000 Arms, Blue Rodeo’s 14th studio album, was just release in October 2016. They have kept a firm stronghold in the Canadian music scene since their formation back in 1984. Members of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, this band will blow away everyone in attendance with their music and stage presence.
With a family musical history dating back to grandfather Bob Marley, Jo Mersa Marley will be bringing his American Reggae style to the main stage, and will be a treat for all those at the show.
To keep along with the reggae theme, Jesse Royal will be bringing the Jamaican reggae musical vibes as well on the stage.
The Mellotones have a long rooted history with Halifax and Nova Scotia in general. Backing up and supporting numerous big acts that come to town, The Mellotones are taking time from their busy summer Nova Scotia touring schedule to hit the main stage and will be bringing their Jazzy blues style with them.
Halifax based Gypsophilia will also be in attendance on the main stage providing their Indie/Jazz sounds with them.
This event will be a great crossing of sounds and styles from the local, national and international music scenes. This year is lining up to be one for the history books.
If you ever have ever wanted to volunteer at one of these concert events, you can get all the details on how to do it at the halifaxjazzfestival.ca website.
