Yorkton, SK based country artist, Samara Yung has just released her new album, Steamroller on May 26, 2017 via SIM Records. On top of this, Samara has just released her new single, “Fireproof” and we are fortunate to have been asked to premiere the video for the track. From the first time I heard the track when it was added to the online radio station that we co-sponsor, All Canadian Radio, I had it stuck in my head and I can see Samara going far, with her strong vocals and killer lyrics. After hearing this single, you are going to want to know more about Samara, and of course we have you covered with our Five Questions With segment below!

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Samara Yung I am a lover of all kinds of music, shoes, home renos and I am a mama to a beautiful 15 month old baby girl.

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style

I really truly grew up listening to rock music so I feel like that comes out in the style of music I choose for my albums and my writing style a bit too.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

I would say our live show is really high energy with lots of vocals as my whole band sings and  its a great mix of everything. We cover everything from my original music to Maroon 5 , Journey and everything in between.  We have shows coming up in Bulyea, SK, Dauphin Countryfest in Dauphin MB, Minnedosa MB for Canada 150 celebrations and a few more in between! Check out my website samarayung.ca for more details!

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

Oooh this is a really hard one! I love them all equally!! But I guess if I HAD to pick it would probably be “Fireproof.”

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?

I would have to say Emerson Drive, Tebey, and the classic Streetheart (since it’s their 40th anniversary tour).
