Saskatoon EX announces Saturday’s performer

The Saskatoon EX —Saskatchewan’s largest summer event—takes place this year from August 8th to 13th at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon. There is a different musical act at the SaskTel Grandstand each night FREE with admission! This presents an awesome opportunity for music fans in and around Saskatoon to check out some quality live music they may otherwise not have the money for. It’s already been announced that Johnny Reid and Blue Rodeo will be performing. Performer news will continue to be made throughout June, with the third one having been this morning at 7:15a.m.

On Saturday, August 12th, Big Sugar will be performing at the Grandstand! Gates for the Grandstand are at 7:00 p.m. and the show will start at 8:30 p.m. Big Sugar is a reggae rock band from Toronto, Ontario. They had split up at the end of 2003, but reunited in April 2010. They’re known for songs such as “Turn The Lights On,” and “Diggin a Hole,” which I think every Canadian alive in the 90s would recognize. If you’re in Saskatoon, be sure to check out the show on August 12th! If the schedule follows past years, there is still one more performer to be announced.

Daily general admission at the gate is $16, ages 11–15 get in for $12, and children 10 and under get in for free when accompanied by an adult! There is also a 2-day general admission pass that can be purchased for only $26 at any Saskatoon Co-Op or Mac’s locations in advance. More information on admission options including midway ride passes/tickets and parking can be found here.
