For Love of Country Music Festival This Weekend in Peterborough

This Saturday, May 20th, on the grounds of the Peterborough Curling Club in Peterborough, Ontario, the first annual For Love of Country Music Festival will take place.

The event is all in support of Produce For Veterans, a non-profit organization in Keene, Ontario that grow and collect locally grown produce to help veterans and military families in need of fresh food.

Runaway Angel will be headlining this one day event. This beautiful trio have been nominated for several CMAOntario Awards and were nominees in the 2016 CCMA Discovery Program. They have released several singles to radio including “Run Angel Run”, “My Someday”, “Around The Bend” and their latest, “Easy”; creative accompanying videos and an EP called No End In Sight. They have played at many of the major Summer festivals like Havelock Country Jamboree, Lucknow’s Music In The Fields and Boots and Hearts. These ladies put on one heck of a stage show and will be sure to get the crowd on their feet!

Brother and sister duo, Instant Rivalry, from Picton, Ontario, have been making a name for themselves over the past several years, winning competitions – The Next Country Music Star Competition which landed them on the Havelock Country Jamboree stage and Ontario Back Roads Country Talent Search. They have also performed at Manitoulin Country Fest and were showcased at the CMAOntario Awards Show and Conference. Attitude and energy would best describe this band on stage.

Peterborough’s own Dean James is an award-winning singer-songwriter, Nashville recording Artist. He’s definitely a walking country music Jukebox with no limits on his performance; from dancing on the bar in his white snakeskin cowboy boots to his intimate solo acoustic performances, His lifelong passion shows through in every song he sings.

Sticks ‘n Tones are an exciting and comedic musical duo consisting of Marc Ekins on vocals, guitar, keys and harmonica and Neil LaFortune on Drums, Percussions and vocals.

A very special addition to the musical line-up is the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, Jamie Warren. He has spent the past several decades performing and writing many hit tunes – “Sunny Day In The Park”, “I’m Getting Closer”, “One Step Back” and so many more. Warren is no stranger to nominations and winning several awards for his talents. He also has the best sense of humour and can make anyone feel at ease.
