The Saskatoon EX announces second Grandstand performer

The Saskatoon EX – Saskatchewan’s largest summer event—takes place this year from August 8th to 13th at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon. There is a different musical act at the SaskTel Grandstand each night FREE with admission! This presents an awesome opportunity for music fans in and around Saskatoon to check out some quality live music they may otherwise not have the money for. Last week, it was announced that Johnny Reid was taking the stage for the first night of The EX. Performer announcements are continuing to be made throughout May and June, with the second having been this morning at 7:15a.m.

On Friday, August 11th, Blue Rodeo will be performing at the Grandstand! The show starts 8:30, and gates to the Grandstand will be at 7:00. Blue Rodeo is a huge Canadian country rock band with 15 full-length studio albums and numerous awards under their belt, featuring Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor on vocals. They’re known for songs such as “Hasn’t Hit Me Yet,” “Bad Timing,” and “New Morning Sun.” Their debut album “Outskirts” was released in 1987, making this year the album’s 30thanniversary and it’s an honour to have them perform in Saskatoon! We can’t wait for the rest of the performers to be announced!

Daily general admission at the gate is $16, ages 11–15 get in for $12, and children 10 and under get in for free when accompanied by an adult! There is also a 2-day general admission pass that can be purchased for only $26 at any Saskatoon Co-Op or Mac’s locations in advance. More information on admission options including midway ride passes/tickets and parking can be found here.
