Countdown to Pouzza Fest 2017 – Interview with Old Wives

Montreal’s Pouzza Fest takes place this month from May 19-21, and we’re happy to count down to this festival with you, which is coming up quick. We will be chatting with a number of the Canadian lineup to get everyone ready for the big event! Today, we are excited to introduce you to Edmonton based pop punk band, The Old Wives. Enjoy!

First off, care to introduce yourself to the Canadian Beats readers?

I’m Shaun from Old Wives. The world’s most mediocre guitar player!

Pouzza Fest is in May, which is really the beginning of the summer festival season, how to prepare for the festival season?

Well we don’t do a ton of festivals so I guess we prepare for it like any other show. Practice, practice and practice

Have you taken part in Pouzza Fest before? If so, what is your favourite memory?

This will be our third time at Pouzza.

Favorite memory? Probably seeing The Lawrence Arms in a small club at 3am. Also all the fun people you get to meet!

There’s quite a big line-up at Pouzza Fest, who are you most excited to check out at the festival?

The lineup is always stacked! For me though I would have to say RVIVR, Direct Hit!, Flatliners, and all of the bands I’ve never seen but will definitely become a fan of.

Are you performing at any other festivals this summer that you’d like to tell us about?

Not so much, we’ve applied for some other festivals come fall. Fingers crossed

Describe your live show in 5 words, and GO!

Leave everything on the stage

If you were asked to give an up and coming artist some advice, what would that advice be?

Do what you love and never quit!

What’s up next for you?

Album release early May, Ontario tour and Pouzza. After that keep playing shows and writing album 4.
