Seven years since their debut album, SLAGDUSTER is back with their new album Deadweight. The album definitely shows that the band has evolved their sound. Advancing with a more  complex and much heavier style with the likes of Goijira, Meshuggah and The Dillinger Escape Plan.

The first single off of the album “Peeping Ron” showcases what the album has to offer. The song kicks off with a punch featuring harsher vocals. Building on a more technical and progressive sound, all the instruments are crisp and stand out.

The album ends on a high note with “Untouchable”. This song is surely to leave you head banging the entire time. Personally I found this song ends the album on a high peak, with its stronger instrumentals. The raging riffs from the guitar and groovy drums will leave you wanting more.

The entire album is a solid piece of work from its instrumentals to its lyricism. Although the album seems to thrive on instrumental variation and dynamic song structure, it also seems to blend well together. If you have a chance I highly recommend picking up the album.
