Pemberton Music Festival 2017: Top ten bands I’d like to see in the Lineup

The Pemberton Music Festival is back for the fourth year in a row this Summer, taking place July 13-16, and fans of the festival are eagerly waiting for the lineup to be announced! The previous three Pemby Fest’s have all had killer names, and I expect this year to be no different. A post on their Facebook page says they’re trying their best to get it released this coming week, so here’s my list of ten bands that I’d love to see take the Pemby stage this Summer. Stay tuned to Canadian Beats for the official lineup. We’d also love to hear who you’d like to see take the stage, comment or tweet us!

  1. Rage Against the Machine

Why? Because they kick ass live and Pemberton Fest would be the perfect place for a Rage reunion in front of 45,000 screaming fans! They got back together ten years ago for Coachella, now it’s Pemby’s turn!

  1. Duran Duran

The Boys from Birmingham will be out on the road this summer and noticeable on their tour page is a gap of 4 days between their Calgary and Honolulu shows. Sounds like the perfect opportunity to slip up to Pemberton and rock the crowd to me!

  1. Wu-Tang Clan

Swingin’ through your town, like your neighbourhood Spider-Man” Wu-Tang have dates scheduled in June and September, but their July calendar is empty so far. Let’s hope these hip hop gurus are thinking about a little trip to the Pemberton Valley!

  1. Green Day

Green Day will have just finished an extensive tour of Europe at the beginning of July and besides some well deserved r&r, they have a clear calendar to pencil in Pemberton Fest 2017! Hard to believe these Guys have been punk-rockin’ it hard for 31 years now.

  1. The Sheepdogs

The first time I saw The Sheepdogs was at the Squamish Valley Music Festival in 2012 and I loved their music as soon as I heard it. They’re great to see at an outdoor venue pounding out their grungy southern rock and roll tunes.

  1. 54-40

Freshly inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Vancouver favourites 54-40 always put on a great show and get the crowd jumping and singing along! Better buff up on your “Ocean Pearl” and “One Gun” lyrics!

  1. Nine Inch Nails

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross light the stage up and rock the fans hard! They only have three tour dates on the schedule this summer and they’ve played Pemberton a couple of times before, so here’s to hoping they want to come back for another!

  1. Aerosmith

The “Bad Boys from Boston” will be finishing up their “Aero-Vederci Baby!” tour of Europe at the beginning of July and would make for unbelievable headliners! Fingers crossed hard!

  1. The Cult

Hard Rockers from Britain, The Cult have an awesome catalog of hits to keep a festival crowd moving, “She sells sanctuary” “Fire Woman” and “Here Comes the Rain” just to name a few.

  1. The Tea Party

Fresh off a wildly successful tour of Canada and the States celebrating the 20th anniversary of their Transmission album, The Tea Party is putting on a better live show than ever! This Canadian power trio from small town Ontario are really a treat to watch!
