JJ Shiplett to Release Debut Album Something to Believe In on January 27

JJ Shiplett just might have a life changing year this year, and it all starts with the release of this full-length debut album Something to Believe In on January 27, 2017. The singer-songwriter hailing from Calgary, spent time in Toronto and Nashville creating a soulful and emotional collection of songs.

The 11-track album showcases Shiplett’s impressive vocal range and honest lyrics. Listening carefully you can hear the heart and passion Shiplett has for his craft. He’s often compared to musical greats Bruce Springsteen and Chris Stapleton with his raspy and rugged vocals. But to be honest, you can also hear a little bit of Johnny Reid as well. What makes Shiplett unique is his ability to cater to those who prefer to listen to roots rock and those who prefer to listen to country. His vocal ability to mix the two together is a quality that not all artists are able to successfully pursue. He’s able to take two types of music and meld them together into his own masterpiece.

“Shiplett is gaining fans for his rootsy sound, which delves as much into heartland rock as it does country – he is definitely someone you want to make the effort to catch.” – Edmonton Journal

Something to Believe In will be available both digitally and physically in Canada via HALO Entertainment Group/Warner Music Canada and digitally in the U.S. starting January 27, 2017. The album is currently available for pre-order HERE. Those that choose to pre-order the new album will be instantly rewarded with two downloads – the album’s first single, “Darling Let’s Go Out Tonight”, and the title track “Something To Believe In”. Both songs were widely well-received when Shiplett released his EP in 2016.
