5 Winter Tours That Will Warm Your Toes

Here we are in the middle of the dreaded winter, when all we dream about is the summer sun kissing our skin and a great music festival just waiting for us to get lost in. It’s sometimes hard to forget that winter doesn’t last forever when you’re in the middle of yet another bout of snow and freezing rain. Well have no fear, I’m here to (hopefully) help you forget your winter blues.

I’ve compiled a list of just five of many winter tours that may be coming to a city or town near you. Maybe just maybe you’ll be able to forget the snow and harsh winds and treat your ears to some great music and entertaining shows.

These Canadian boys are basically a staple of Canadian music for more than a few generations (I’m talking about their fans, not their age!). Notorious for their winter tours, these guys are sure to bring a little sunshine to your dreary winter day. It’s easy to get lost in old favourites as this country-rock band has been around for quite some time. These down-to-earth dudes will definitely be able to help kickstart your 2017 into something amazing.

Touring Canada: January 11th to February 28th, 2017.

From past experience, I can tell you that the energy that these two guys have is off the charts. Between the great lyrics, their energy and their humble attitudes, it’ll be hard not to enjoy yourself when they head to your town this winter. If you’re looking to lose the winter gear and get a little sweaty, this show is definitely for you. You’ll be in for a high energy, high impact show that will be sure to leave you breathless.

Touring Canada: January 12th to February 12th, 2017.

3. Brett Kissel – Ice Snow and 30 Below (Photo Credit: Dutch Bickell)

Don’t think I’ve forgotten our Country fans out there. Brett Kissel’s highly anticipated Ice Snow and 30 Below tour is set to kick off within the next week, and I know more than a few writers who are excited to be going. This guy has had so much success in such a short period of time, and it’s amazing to see how far he’s come. Bringing his radio hits to the stage, you’ll be sure to forget what’s going on outside the venue doors. You’ll get lost in the Airwaves and I know for sure that you’ll all be Cool with That. (See what I did there?!)

Touring Canada: January 12th to February 4th, 2017.

2. Sam Roberts Band (Photo Credit: Orest Dorosh)

Sam Roberts Band is another staple in Canadian music among the indie scene. They’ve been around the globe and across Canada, bringing their sound to music fans all over. These handsome dudes are extremely talented and passionate for their craft and it always seems to show whenever they get on stage. Having met them a few years ago, I can attest to their character and know they’ll make sure you have a great time. If you want to rock out with a good band, be sure to check out their set when they make a stop in your city – even in the middle of a snowstorm (trust me, it’ll be worth it!).

Touring Canada: January 20th to February 7th, 2017.

1. Arkells – Morning Report Tour (Photo Credit: Tara Thompson)

I saved the best for last in my opinion because having seen them multiple times, they’re well worth it. These stellar group of guys know how to perform, and mix that with some amazing new music, you will NOT regret stepping out of your cozy onesie and into the cold. Their newest album just dropped a few months ago and every bit of it is gold. So if if you’re able to brave the cold, make your way to the nearest concert venue, grab a few bevvies (if you’re legal age of course), and get lost in the music.

Touring in Canada: February 1st to 15th, 2017.
