Review – Beach Bodies

Art rock is about as unconventional as a genre of music can get and Guelph, ON based band, Beach Bodies has it dialed in for their debut LP, Onward & Downward, who describe the album as “simultaneously gloomy and uplifting, a chronicling of adolescence anxiety of the world at large to new beginnings“.

Upon first listen you realize that this is not your average alternative rock album.  It is a collection of songs that demonstrate how to make a bold musical statement without getting lost in the noise.  Beach Bodies have fused together a multitude of layers such as calming nature sounds, 70’s rock elements and hints of jazz to create a sonic landscape worth exploring a little deeper.  It is within these finely woven details where Beach Bodies expose the care they take to handcraft each song into the quirky, experimental self-described ‘jangle pop’ gems that pepper the album.  Expand your musical repertoire and hop on this musical journey by downloading yourself your very own copy of Onward & Downward today.
