Released through New Damage Records on July 8th, Is This Where They Found You? is the brand new EP from Ontario pop punk group, Coldfront. If you like bands like Seaway and State Champs, this band will be of interest to you.

The EP opens with my favourite track of the five, “Molly Blooms”. It has the perfect pop punk feel to it and really sets the tone for the rest of the album.

A lot of pop punk bands are influenced by pop punk legends, Sum 41 and it didn’t surprise me when drummer Michael mentioned that they’re one of his favourite Canadian bands in our recent interview (https://canadianbeats.ca/2016/06/17/interview-coldfront) with him. The song “Shed Light” has a early Sum 41 vibe to it which I really enjoy as a Sum 41 fan myself.

After listening to the EP a few times on repeat, “Up” really started to stick out to me as one of my favourite tracks. It’s a song that I think a lot of people will enjoy even if they’re not really into the pop punk scene.

Overall, this EP is a solid listen and Coldfront are definitely one of the bands to watch this year. I personally can’t wait to see what they do next.

Coldfront are currently on a cross Canada tour with Seaway and Rarity. Check them out if they’re coming through your town.
