Toronto, ON based singer/songwriter; Emily Rockarts has just released her debut EP, Mapmaker. The EP features five stunning songs, and I can see why she has become known as one of Toronto’s most charming performers.

The opening track, “Whale Song” shows a vocal strength and radiates talent. It’s the perfect song to start off the listening experience that Mapmaker sets in front of you.  Next, is the title track, it’s a softer song and the vocals instantly gave me chills.

“In The City” immediately became my favourite, the beat intrigued me and I couldn’t stop my toes from tapping along with the music. The final two songs don’t disappoint, they continue to bring the listener on a journey, which makes sense as it is said that Mapmaker is an album about discovery, and exploring with wide eyed optimism.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll listen to the EP, and then start over again, but this time you’ll be singing along!
