When: Saturday, April 2, 2016
Venue: Junction City Music Hall
Where: Toronto, ON
Union Duke, a country/rock/bluegrass group from Toronto performed back-to-back shows, on April 1st and 2nd, at Junction City Music Hall, a venue that is like home for the quintet. We caught up with them on the second night of their performance when singer-songwriter, and friend to the band, Ryan Maquire, opened for them. Junction City was absolutely packed to capacity for the entire evening with friends and fans alike who were anxious to capture a glimpse of their beloved Union Duke. The band has been steadily on tour for the past few years and have come to be recognized for their live performances. With fiddles and banjos and tambourines banging on cymbals, they sang and played enthusiastically the entirety of their most recent album release, Cash & Carry. Union Duke are no stranger to the summer festival and have promised that they will be touring once again this summer for many local festivals. Come out and see what the hype is about! Also stay tuned to Canadian Beats for a video interview that was conducted with Ethan and Matt from the band before their performance that night.
