Toronto, ON based artist, Rebecca Everett has just released her new EP, “Seven Shades”, which is a five song EP featuring the single, “Sting of a Kiss”. The single shows off Rebecca’s hauntingly beautiful vocals and almost hypnotizing beat that goes along with it perfectly.

There is usually one song on an album or EP that leaves you wanting more, and the one that did this for me was the fourth song, “Mean Old Man”, it tells a story with the lyrics that makes you feel like you know the old man that she speaks of. The lyrics really give you a vivid picture of the man, which is not an easy task. I listened to this song over and over, and it never got old.

The EP comes to a close with “Everything”, the more mellow of the tracks, which showcases Rebecca’s vocals a bit more and radiates a relaxing feel with the music.

Although, the EP only consists of five songs, it is more than enough to realize that Rebecca is a very talented artist, and it has left me wanting to hear more from her.

Rating: 4/5
