Kitchener, ON based artist, Cheryl Lescom released her new album today, “1953” via Busted Flat Records. Cheryl is well known throughout the blues/ roots community, and has been said to have “one of the best and biggest voices in Canada”, and I can see why after listening to this album.

The album features eleven tracks, all of which are high energy, perfectly written songs. “Soul Shakin’ Romance” is the second on the album, and has to be my favourite. It’s fun to sing along with and will have your toes tapping from the beginning until the end..

Cheryl’s vocals are killer, full of emotion and energy, and her love for music shines through. If you’re looking for a slower track, there are some of those too, such as “Measure Of A Man” and “It’s Not You, It’s Me”. These tracks show more emotion than the upbeat “party” tracks.

Cheryl says “The songs are inspired by my 62 years on this planet…” and finishes stating, “Don’t write me off ‘cuz I’m old’”. I recommend you listen to what she’s said, because this album is expertly put together, and I wouldn’t want you to miss out on it!
