Peterborough, ON based folk artist, Nick Ferrio has released his new album, “Amongst The Coyotes and Birdsongs” on May 26, 2015 through Headless Owl Records & Shuffling Feet Records.

The album is made up of ten tracks, and I can say that I enjoyed each and every one. The first song, “Hide My Love” pulls you immediately. This song radiates tranquility. I can picture myself sitting on the deck in the sun, listening to this album and relaxing.

“Come Hell or High Water” has a slight country vibe to it and I really enjoyed singing along with this track. I can’t choose a favourite on this album, since I liked each and every song for different reasons, and I recommend that if you are a fan of folk music, you go buy it now. If you aren’t a fan of folk music, I still recommend you head over to his bandcamp and listen to “Hide My Love” and take it from there!

“Mirror Ball Shine” is another track that I was drawn to as soon as I heard the first verse. The vocals are done perfectly on this track and I hope to someday see this song done live. I can only imagine how great it would be. On this track, Nick is joined by Julie Doiron on vocals and the result is beautiful.

Rating: 5/5
