Hamilton, ON based independent folk artist, Amber Edgar released her new EP, “Good Will Rise” on May 12, 2015. The EP features four tracks in which Amber says were “a difficult collection of songs for me to record, but I felt they were worth sharing with others because they speak to common experiences – depression, unrequited lust, grief, etc”.

The third song, “Danny Was So Young” is my favourite on the EP, it tells a tragic story in which I would like to know more behind the writing process. It’s one of those songs that speaks to you, and you just want to know more, good writing will do that.

“Only In Dreams” is the final song on the EP and Ambers vocals on this one are almost haunting, they have a slight raspy, smoky tone behind them which is pleasant to the ears, and makes me want to hear more from this talented Canadian folk singer/songwriter.

Rating: 3.5/5
