Established in 2012 in Burlington, Big Lonely is an indie rock group currently based in London, Ontario. The group consists of Jake Heise on Guitar/Vocals, Cole Mortillaro on Drums, T. J. Bowman on Bass, and Claran Downes on Guitar/Vocals. Last year, they released their first EP entitled Short Stories With Recurring Characters.

On December 5, 2014, they will be releasing the first full-length release Close Your Eyes, Keep Talking via Bandcamp. Big Lonely’s release of Close Your Eyes, Keep Talking presents listeners with ten tracks. Included in the tracklisting is the lead single “Dirty Clocks.”

After watching the video for “Dirty Clocks,” I was looking forward to checking out the remainder of the album. Upon listening to it in its entirety, I was definitely not disappointed. From the opening track, “Cactus,” to the final, “All My Lucky Senses,” I was drawn in. With the more you listen to the album, the more it grows on you. The lyrics, instrumentals, and vocals tie in nicely together. The tracks standing out the most for me on the release of Close Your Eyes, Keep Talking include “You Want It All,” “Cactus,” “Dirty Clocks,” and “I Donned a Shade.”

I would recommend listening to “Dirty Clocks” first to see if you enjoy the sound Big Lonely offers. If you do, pick up a copy of Close Your Eyes, Keep Talking today.
