Meter Bridge is a synthpop duo based in Nelson, BC. The duo is made up of Richard Kleef and Jill Beaulieu. Richard uses Ableton software, Native instruments, Moog and Korg synths, as well as some guitar rigs. He is well known for his creativity on the guitar. Jill’s voice blends perfectly with the above mentioned instruments to create this unique sound.

I could picture song of these songs in a sci-fi film, the sounds are very robotic, but not in a bad way. It has been a long time since I have heard something so unique. The third song on the EP is entitled “Kite” and I would have to say that it’s my favourite. It features vocals from both Richard & Jill, along with some very futuristic sounds.

Another that stood out for me is “Marvelous Proposition” which in the beginning almost sounded like a retro video game, which intrigued me, it quickly changed from that sound to a semi-upbeat track which is very electronic, but also features great vocals from Jill.

If you are looking for something different to listen to, that is still highly entertaining, this may just be the thing for you!

Rating: 3/5
