Halifax Electronic Live Music Festival (helm fest) was the first electronic music festival in Atlantic Canada! Helm fest was held on September 20, 2014 at the Halifax Waterfront. This is a two stage event was one of the best shows I’ve ever been too.
I’ve been a fan of EDM music for a few months now. This was my very first EDM festival, and let me just say it was insane! As crazy as it seemed the festival lasted 12 hours. I was at the event for around 13 hours and I’m proud to say we were the first ones in line. The festival included local artists like Scientists of Sound, Pineo & Loeb, Neon Dreams, Dezza as well as international artist Michael Woods and 3lau.
During the day and I saw many awesome artists. The day started off with a smaller crowd but when Pineo & Loeb and Scientists of Sound went on the small crowd was jamming. I don’t remember the names of all the people I got to see, but all the ones I saw were really, really good.
One group I knew I was going to see for 100% was my boys, Neon Dreams. This definitely wasn’t my first ND show but it was my first time seeing their DJ set. They went on around 4:30 and had the biggest crowd of the afternoon. Re set features some of their originals as well as remixes by themselves and others. Their set featured the one and only Banana Zo!
You can check out 2 short videos of Neon Dreams’ set here:
I got the chance to see some of Dezza’s set. I didn’t get to see much of it but I did get to hear the Linkin Park remix! Although Michael Woods and 3lau aren’t Canadian I had to atleast mention them. 3lau had one of my favorite sets of the day!

It’s safe to say Helm Fest was insane! Huge thank you and shoutout to the organizers, and everyone that made the event possible! It was such an amazing event, can’t wait for Helm Fest 2015!
