Toronto based rapper and motivational speaker, D.O. (Defy the Odds), is releasing his fourth album ‘Down Home’, Tuesday, April 22, 2014. ‘Down Home’ was produced by the well known Canadian hip hop artist, Classified. Down Home is a 10-track collaborative including Chad Hatcher, Jake Boyd, J-Bru, Joell Ortiz, Maestro Fresh Wes, Mic Boyd, Saukrates and Spesh K.

I recently listened to his newest album ‘Down Home’. I really enjoyed this album. I really liked that it featured a lot of artists I like such as J-Bru and Chad Hatcher. Overall this album has really good songs, lyrics and beats.

I’d have to say my favourite song on the album is ‘Time Will Tell’ featuring Jake Boyd. After listening to this album this song was stuck in my head. I really like the chorus and think it’s memorable. The lyrics seem to me like they would be relatable to others. D.O and Jake Boyd’s voice go really well together in this song. They also go really well with the beat.

I also really enjoy the song ‘Down Home’ featuring Chad Hatcher. Being from Halifax myself, I am a Chad Hatcher fan. I can also relate to some of the lyrics about Nova Scotia and Halifax. This is very catchy as well. I think this song has potential of getting popular. I definitely would request this song on the radio.
